Muintir Na Leanaí - Community supporting the journey of children

A boy and an adult showing their colourful handsOver the past two decades, early childhood care and education has changed in Ireland to an extent that it is hardly recognisable. There are new purpose built facilities and play areas, Tusla, Aistear and Síolta, Childcare Regulations, Qualification requirements, Garda Vetting and structures for child protection, plus the 2 years free preschool programme which are all clearly visible. There are many other changes in the area of childcare in Ireland and one of these is the growth of facilities offering a Montessori programme.

Muintir Na Leanaí in-service Montessori refresher courses offers training and support, to refresh and upskill Montessori practitioners in all Montessori rooms and facilities delivering Montessori programmes throughout the country. These one day Montessori Workshops will deliver professional training and support by expert and experienced Montessori trainers to Montessori Providers nationwide, irrespective of their training background or affiliation. Providers of Montessori services can avail of these services in localised areas - numbers permitting - in any county, expressions of interest are welcome from individuals and facility managers. On completion of the workshop all attendees will receive an Muintir Na Leanaí Attendance Certification.

What Montessori Providers have to say about us:

Catherine was my course tutor in 2015. She was a very enthusiastic and positive person; very committed to her work reflecting many Montessori ideals. Catherine supported me and my colleagues while she also encouraged us to help and support each other. Thanks to her I decided to continue studying Early Childcare and Montessori.

Thank you

Anna, Dublin 8

Catherine is a very dedicated trainer who has a vast knowledge of the Montessori method of teaching and Early Years Education, with a wide range of hand’s on experience. I have found training with Catherine to be thoroughly enjoyable, fun and extremely positive.

Lynsey, Dublin 15

Catherine was an amazing tutor when I was studying Early Childhood & Education. She was always on hand to help and support me through it all. Thanks to her and her teachings, she gave me the determination to further continue my studies to become a Montessori teacher and made me realise what childcare is all about. Thank you so much.

Kate, Balbriggan

Catherine is one in a million, I found her very helpful throughout my course and always enthusiastic and positive which made the course a lot less stressful for myself, having been out of school many years. It was daunting but Catherine made me feel at ease and gave me confidence in my work with an ‘I can do’ approach. I would love to study with Catherine again in the future.

Dhara, Clongriffin

Catherine is an advocate for children, she is kind, thoughtful, honest and extremely helpful. It is due to her encouragement and style of teaching, along with her belief in education and its value, I opened my own Naíonra and returned to education to complete a BA in Early Education and Care.

Ciannait, Rathmines

Catherine has a very professional approach to her work. As a trainer I found her to be very supportive and encouraging to the group as a whole. She ensured everyone had an opportunity to demonstrate what they had learned and really encouraged cooperation and communication. She is genuinely passionate about explaining the true Montessori approach with children.

Sharon, Dublin

Catherine is very sincere, dedicated and enthusiastic person and with her enthusiasm she inspired me to be creative and understand the process of learning in a child’s life.

The guidance from Catherine was invaluable during my Childcare course as she supported me in every aspect of my work : assignments, work practice, dealing with children, staff, management and colleague students. Catherine’s life’s experience as Montessori teacher was the best source of my learning as she was able to give an example for each bit of theory we would have in our notes. I am doing ECCE level 6 online now and it is possible only because I have got the opportunity to study level 5 with Catherine which gave me a very solid foundation and push in studying further. She was just wonderful and I am very grateful to her for all experiences we had during the year with her.

Olga, Bettystown, Meath

Catherine is a great communicator, motivator, supporter and is very committed to getting the very best out of her students. Very knowledgeable about the early years sector and her experience makes her invaluable as a trainer.

Kind Regards

Linda, Swords

Catherine is a lovely person and a great mentor. She manages to keep her classes interesting and involves everyone in discussions so that all students could get their points across. Catherine gives great advice about how to handle different situations as she has so much experience herself and because of her knowledge and understanding of this work, myself and my fellow students thoroughly enjoyed our level 6 childcare course and bettered ourselves considerably as practitioners.

Clare, Swords

Catherine is a very enthusiastic and positive person; very committed to her work and to making childcare better for children. Catherine supported me and my colleagues and was always there to support all of us. Thanks to her I decided to continue studying Early Childhood Care and Education and recently completed my level 6.
